Day in life with a baby and a toddler!
Tuesday May 15
I always thought that a day in life blogs are really interesting so I am doing one myself. My son is 26 months old and dear daughter is 9 months old today, happy 9th month my darling. This morning as I was dressing up for the day I decided I’ll write about today. We woke up many times during the night for feeds but I didn’t record or watch the clock at any time. At 8:00 my daughter Juliette woke up as always with a happy smile on her face and trying to wake me up by crawling onto me. 10 minutes later Alex woke up too and started playing with her sister and by the time it was 9 am we had changed, made the beds and gotten ready for a new day.
Breakfast time 9-9:30 While I was preparing breakfast Alex and Juliette sat in front of TV watching Justin’s house on Cbeebies . Alex is having cheerio cereal, banana and avocado for fruit and Juliette is having same fruits and Heinz breakfast cereals.
Today we are going to the library because is singing day. Both kids love going there and we are slightly late. After a big tantrum at the park we finally made it right on time for singing. 10 am singing time: Luckily Alex decided to sit close to the other kids just in front of me and I was so happy, it never happens for him to sit even though it wasn’t long until he started moving all the books from place to place every time between songs. He doesn’t speak so much but tries to sing every song with little vocabulary he has at the moment and mostly with moves and signs . He also helped the singing lady with the lion when singing ‘ Row row your boat ‘ and he did the lion roar . Oh he loved it so did I !
10:30 after singing we left the library to go to the shopping centre at the soft play where they both are excited to go . Juliette was crawling everywhere and playing with the soft blocks , watching the other kids and brother running around, sliding and playing . When we are there they also love getting in all the cars and carousel they see but I don’t give them rides during the week only on weekends.
It was 11:30 when we left the shopping centre , Juliette was exhausted because she didn’t have her nap. I rushed on our way home , stopped at Royal Mail for a quick collection and she finally got to sleep. We made it home at 12:15 just in time for lunch. We ate scrambled eggs and soft cheese, pita bread sandwich followed by a glass of water . When dear daughter woke up from her nap she had goats cheese pitta veggies and some berries .
The house was a big mess so after Juliette finished her lunch I put her down on the play area and cleaned the house, lots of cloth folding and hanging outside to dry and by 2:30 I was done so we started getting ready to go swimming. 3pm at the pool
We like to go swimming twice a week usually on Monday and Friday but mummy was very tired yesterday. When we go swimming its all about them it’s not that I get to relax myself but I do enjoy that they have fun and a big splash there. While Juliette stays on her training seat and the water moves her close to us I try to entertain Alex by sliding on the water slide that he loves but he’s scared to slide on his own.At 3:30 They are ready to leave the pool so we get changed and head to the park play area . It’s great when the both swings are free so I can put them both on the same time and enjoy a little giggle both brother and sister.
We played football for a while and then went to the skating park for him to play on his scooter. It was 4:30 and Alex wasn’t giving up , he has got a lot of energy and he hasn’t napped all day. Juliette was crying for her much needed nap so I had to take Alex crying, put him on his pushchair against his will and went home. 5 pm Juliette went to sleep and so did Alex. That is a late nap for both of them (well mostly for Alex). They woke up 30 mins later by themselves . 6:30 Dinner time
While they napped I made rice pudding for dinner . They finished the bowl , surely all that activity had left them hungry and asked for yogurt afterwards which they got.
After we had a Skype conversation with nana and grandpa we watered our little plants in the garden. Alex loves doing that and also played on their slide in the garden.Daddy’s home from work and both kids run to hug him, they miss him so much . As I am writing this it’s 10 pm and I haven’t had dinner yet. Juliette is sleeping and Alex is watching Peppa pig. Dear husband hasn’t returned from the gym yet . A day in life of a mum is full of activities, long , tiring full of fun but never boring. Sometimes we do need some rest but with a toddler and a baby even a night’s sleep isn’t restful but I am happy that they are happy and enjoy these days as much as possible. United Kingdom has more rainy days than sunny so these days are the most wanted and loved by us all.
